Artist Statement
I am a visual artist working primarily with photography, video, and drawing. My practice is rooted in observation, emotion, and the search for meaning within the everyday. Photography, for me, is an act of wandering—of staying alert and attuned to the subtle magic that light and form can reveal. As the light shifts, so too do shapes and meanings; the familiar world becomes fragmented and reassembled into a “personal parallelogram” of perception—a quiet, deliberate act of staging. From there, I engage deeply with one subject at a time, exploring the full expressive potential of the medium through experimentation with angles, human connection, and an approach grounded in sincerity and respect.
Drawing opens a different kind of space. Through graphite, charcoal, and line, I access inner sanctuaries of the self—psychological landscapes that allow for introspection, revelation, and gradual healing. This space becomes a personal architecture where trauma is not only expressed, but transformed.
Much of my work centers around the idea of threat—violence understood not just as physical harm, but as shifts in identity, disorder, emotional dissolution, or the embodiment of pain. These themes are explored in tension with emptiness and even death. I view nature as both refuge and enigma—a place of organic decay and regeneration, a theater for secret rituals and chthonic forces. I am drawn to its cracks, shadows, and silences.
I am also deeply engaged with the darker chapters of human history, especially those that have resulted in collective trauma. I believe that careful, honest research into these periods is essential if we are to avoid repeating past mistakes. My work is both an investigation and an invitation—a way of confronting the past, engaging with the present, and imagining a more conscious, compassionate future.
